WELCOME TO ADATH ISRAEL

We welcome you to worship with us this holiday season. High Holiday Services for the year 5769 commence with Erev Rosh Hashanah on Monday, September 29th at 7:30 PM.

A detailed schedule and information about our High Holiday services follow...

Non-Members joining us for the Holidays:

We have an “open door” policy and continue to be a place for all Jews in our community to have a place to worship regardless of financial ability. However, we are funded solely through our member dues and donations by people who know how important it is to have a spiritual home and Synagogue in Newtown.

If you are not a member, please consider a donation of $300 to our General Fund for each non-member adult attending services. Join by December 31, 2008 and have your donation applied against your first year’s membership dues.

Please note that all donations are tax deductible and therefore, if one wishes to donate considerably more in keeping within their means, Adath Israel would appropriately acknowledge said donations.

BABYSITTING FOR THE HIGH HOLIDAYS

We welcome families with all ages of children at all of our services. We believe a commitment to families and children will foster the development of life long learning and a love of Judaism.

We will have professional babysitting for children ages 0 – 7 during the High Holidays.

Babysitting will be available from 9 am until 2 pm on both Tuesday, September 30th, Rosh Hashanah and on Thursday, October 9th, Yom Kippur.

All children will need to be signed in and out by a parent and parents will need to be prepared to show identification. We will provide snacks and drinks but parents should pack a dairy kosher lunch for their child and other items like bottles and diapers that your child may need. We will come and get you if your child needs to be changed. Children may also bring books and toys they want to use or share.

Infants – Age 3

We will have one room for infants up to age 3. They will remain in babysitting until they are picked up by their parents.

Children ages 4 - 7

A second room will have the children ages 4 – 7. These children will have a Children’s Service. This will be a shorter service for this age bracket. When the children’s service ends they will return to babysitting until they are picked up by their parents.

Children ages 8 and above

These children may attend the Youth & Family Service by themselves or with a parent. All children will need to stay with their parents after the Youth & Family Services have ended.
